These were for a post-apocalyptic zine/comic I started working on a few years ago. It’s remained half finished and on the backburner for a long time. The mail order ad is a parody of an 80s Tang ad that tells you to send in barcodes for some rad Tang merch, and the other is an homage to the index page of old National Geographic issues. I still can’t tell if I’m funny or just a big dork.
I also planned to have a fantasy issue called THE OGRE PIT, which is a reference to a swimming hole in Thunder Bay, On. The address of the “Birch Point Acid Pit” is also a reference to North West Ontario.
